Now we write on diverse topics ranging from Thai Culture to World Politics, but lately it's mostly been a photo-diary about our lives and travels around Asia.

Asian menu items to drool over...

Click here if you're feeling a tad peckish and bravely experimental.
But hey, don't expect fried rice. This is a collection made over years of eating all around Asia at local street stalls and out-of-the-way restaurants which can't afford spell-checkers. And I must confess, some of them I declined to sample - for reasons which ought to become bleedin' obvious.

Poems of the Day:

How a minority
Reaching majority
Seizing authority
Hates a minority.

The name of the poet? Hmm, not sure. Ask any passing refugee on Manus Island.

The tiny bit of GST
That I pay for my cup of tea
Will go towards the bit of lead
That goes into somebody's head
In deepest dark Afghanistan:
Perhaps a peaceful loving man
Targeted by secret sources
Murdered by the special forces
Dies to keep me safe and free
As I drink my cup of tea.

Steve Irwin in the Art of the Great Masters. A gallery of 'grate' Classical art featuring a known convicted crocophile. Khaki is this season's new red. Apologies in advance for the website's soppy intro, but just to bring things back into balance, here's a link back to FunkyPix2's latest Irwin post.

BOYCOTT THESE OIL COMPANIES because they still do business with BURMA. They are CHEVRON, which owns Caltex, Texaco & Unocal, and TOTAL, which owns Elf & Fina. These rogue oil companies have been operating the Yadana natural gas pipeline in southern Burma since the early '90s. The junta takes in an estimated $450 million a year from the Yadana project alone--and uses that money to maintain its brutal control, while most people in Burma live in dire poverty. To keep their profits flowing, Chevron and Total lobby hard in the U.S. and Europe against government measures to support a democratic transition in Burma.

Not The Nation: Brilliant spoof of Thailand’s newspaper The Nation. Real insight into the ironies and contradictions of the Thai mindset. Funny as hell. Now someone should do Not-The-Guardian...
